摘    要:FTTH网络的不断扩大,将会需要轻便、具有更高机械性能和更好灵活性的室内光缆(单芯光缆)。针对小型化单芯光缆对增强材料的性能要求,杜邦公司近期推出了Kevlar纤维的高性能产品系列(Kevlar Advanced Performance,简称Kevlar AP),其比Kevlar K29纤维具有更高的弹性模量和抗拉强度。通过理论估算和光缆样品的测试,分析了Kevlar AP纤维在单芯光缆小型化上的技术优势,使线缆设计者可利用KevlarAP纤维的高弹性模量达到最佳的光缆增强效果。

Kevlar AP Fibers for Smaller Size Single Fiber Cables

Abstract:With the continuous expansion of FTTH networks, indoor fiber optic cables (especially single fiber cables) with lighter weight, smaller size, higher performance, and better mechanical flexibility will be needed. For this purpose, DuPont recently launched a series of high-performance Kevlar fiber products (Kevlar Advanced Performance, referred to as Kevlar AP), which have improved elastic modulus and strength than conventional Kevlar K29 product. Through theoretical calculations and real cable testing, the advantages of Kevlar AP fibers in single fiber optic cable miniaturization technology is discussed. It is concluded that the high elastic modulus can offer optimal strengthening effects for fiber optic cables.
