Chinese Architecture Firms: Going toward the Market while they grow

Architecture firms in China are facingan era of great development and also confronting aninternal and external pressure and challenges. Thisarticle makes an analysis on the gaps in terms of theoperation modes, service ability, management leveland technical quality of different design companiesand to put forward solutions. The final part of thearticle points out two roads of the design consultationindustry: I. The state-owned large and mediumreconnaissance and design units and large comprehensivearchitecture offices gradually developing into largescale comprehensive engineering consultationorganizations, taking the path of overall contractincorporating design, purchase and construction; II.Developing towards the small professional consultationoffices with certain expertise and occupying certainsegmented market with high efficiency, fast speed andflexible mode.
