| 摘 要： | 英汉两种语言的委婉语既属于语言现象又属于文化现象。两者之间存在不少相似之处，又表现出各自不同的民族特色和文化内涵。从交际功能和表达内容方面对英汉委婉语进行了试探性的对比分析，进一步提示了英汉委婉语在深层文化上的本质差异。

| Abstract: | English and Chinese euphemism is a language phenomenon and a cultural phenomenon as well. There is much similarity between the two, which displays the different national characters and cultural connotations. This paper discusses the contrastive study of English and Chinese euphemism from communication functions and expressive contents, reveals the essential differences of the English and Chinese euphemism. |
