A study on method of reducing condensation for total heat exchanger under humid conditions

Abstract:An experimental study was performed to reduce the condensation under very humid conditions for a total heat exchanger. The hydrochromic ink was used to detect the condensation within the total heat exchanger. Condensation in a total heat exchanger can be reduced by decreasing the flow rate of the supply air. The other method of decreasing the flow rate of the exhaust air can also be used to reduce condensation. However the flow rate of the exhaust air has to be less than half of the supply air flow rate for the tested total heat exchanger.
