| Abstract: | A brief review of recent papers on the analysis of oxygen, nitrogen, and hydrogen in metals by vacuum methods has been made. Further experience with vacuum fusion apparatus designed and described earlier by one of the authors is reported.1 A new set of Bureau of Standards steel samples have been analyzed and the acceptable values for oxygen and nitrogen, predicted earlier, have been confirmed. 1Critical comments on the limitations of methods and suggestions for improvements are presented. |
