Abstract: | Use of humidified blast is particularly valuable where practice necessitates use of Lake Superior ores, because they cannot withstand higher blast temperatures unless used in conjunction with controlled moisture in the blast. This paper describes operating characteristics of No. 5 blast furnace at Indiana Harbor with higher blast temperatures and added moisture. |
