BENEFITS PATTERN AND POWER STRUCTURE IN SPATIAL ORDER

In this paper, urban space is exposed theoretically as an objective of discovery, an approach of accumulation, and an instrument of control. The spatial order that urban planners make efforts to establish is strongly distorted by the impact of benefits pattern and power structure. The frailty of urban planning theory lies on the misunderstanding or neglecting of this point, which leads up to the difficulty of bridging the gap between the planning practice and the transformation of human settlements in the real world.
