Study on Digest and Modification of Imported Glass Tank Furnace

Based on the detailed original information and technical data this paper summarized the evolution of glass container tank furenace over the past 20 years for the light industry in China and gave a survey of typical glass tank fnruace of standard design by O.I.,Sorg,Yamamura,and KTG Co.which were imported since the reform and open,policy.Their main economic and technical features were also mentioned.To find out the inferiority of domestic glass tank furnaces compared to imported furnaces and to digest the advanced technology comparison of tank structure and design,materials as well as attached equipment between domestic and imported glass furnaces was carried out in the present paper.The authors summarized the shortcomings in melting technique,processing stabiliy,glass-melting quality,temperature at throat,minimizing back current,selecting,processing and laying out of refractories,sealing of furnace and thermal insulating techniques of domestic glass melting furnace compared with imported glass tanks furnace,Proposals for improving the above mentioned processes and technology in the light of specific conditions in China were also put forward.The conclusions of this paper show that by digesting all the advanced technology of imported glass tank furnaces and our glass tank furnaces are capable of reaching the same level as that of imported glass tank furnace.The service life of glass tank furnaces depends strongly upon the quality of the refractories.Four-year campaign is quite possible by using home-made refractories for high melting rate furnaces.
