Combined with Gaussian plume model, the leakage rate, leakage, evaporation rate and diffusion concentration distribution of LNG are simulated and calculated when the LNG tank ship leakage occurs during docking at a port based on the analysis of safety status and the statistics of incidents during LNG tank ship transportation. The risk assessment for vapor cloud explosion after leakage is performed, and the degree and scope of harms from LNG vapor cloud explosion accident are obtained. It is pointed out that LNG transportation should be included in temporary major hazard sources.
