Abstract: | Phase relationships in Si3N4-AIN-MxOy systems involving ![agr](/content/um5813624118083k/xxlarge945.gif) -sialon, where M represents lithium, magnesium, calcium, yttrium, neodymium, samarium, gadolinium, dysprosium, erbium and ytterbium are outlined. Their implications for the formation and fabrication of single-phase ![agr](/content/um5813624118083k/xxlarge945.gif) -sialon and two-phase :![agr](/content/um5813624118083k/xxlarge945.gif) sialon ceramics are discussed. |
