Effective hydrologic regime measurement & forecasting means are essential to ensure the safety of project during flood season in its construction and operation, the coordination between power generation and flood control, the joint operation of the cascade reservoirs, as well as the enhancement of modernization management level of project. The automatic hydrologic regime measurement & forecasting system for the Longtan Project consists of the data acquisition, transmission, processing and distribution sub-systems. The system equipment is logical in configuration, stable in its performances and reliable in operation. It has played an important role in the flood control during the construction of the Longtan Hydropower Project.
