| Abstract: | This paper outlines the environmental problems and harmful social effect caused by ground subsidence on the production, people's life, traffic, shipping and tourism. Some suggestions have been put forward for preventing land subsidence. The paper also discusses the comprehensive control of subsidence in tems of administration, planning, design and market-based methods. According to the status quo of subsidence research, following work might be carried out:data base building, dynamic monitoring, model and method, risk evaluating. |
