Through analysis af the characters of the post-modernism and the representation of the past-modernism in the modem landscape design, the paper discusses the similarities and differences between the post modernlsm and the Chinese classical gardens, After analysis the post madernism characteristic and its performance in the modern landscape design, discuss the inner link and the difference between past-modernism and the Chinese classical botanical garden.It demonstrates that Chinese landscape architects should be well aware of contemporary cultural background and atmosphere, and study and model the factors in the post modernism which suits China, and develop the Chinese botanical garden industry with Chinese characteristics.
