| Abstract: | The present paper analyzes the cause to high consumption of propane gas for the flame cutter of the billet continuous caster in the Converter Steel-making Plant. The cost of propane gas/ton steel has been greatly reduced by optimization of the arrange ment of the propane stations and implementation of ignition by sub-lance technology. |
