The paper discusses selection of 220 kV wiring mode of 220 kV substations and it compares doublebus wiring with double-bus single-segment wiring and double-bus double-segment wiring in terms of power supply reliability and operational flexibility. By taking a 220 kV substation for instance, the paper comparatively analyzes the three 220 kV wiring modes in terms of system and technological economy in accordance to the status, type of distribution equipment and floor space and proposes some suggestions on selecting 220 kV wiring mode of 220 kV substations.
