| Abstract: | The influence of groundwater flow effects on freezing processes in soil is analyzed by means of finite element method. The latent heat involved in a phase change is taken into account by virtue of the enthalpy, which is defined as the integral of heat capacity with respect to temperature. The analyses are carried out in an example of a two-dimensional freezing process with a groundwater flow field. |
