Quantitative Determination of the Hydroxyl Content of Vitreous Silica |

| Abstract: | The molar extinction coefficient for bound water in the form ofhydroxyl in vitreous silica has been determined by a thermogravimetric technique. The value obtained, 181 L/mol cm, is believed to be considerably more accurate than the values now used. |
