现在，微软终于推出了期待已久的Microsoft Update，它将作为公司的产品手动更新服务来取代Windows UPdate和新版本的自动更新（Automatic Updates）一道，Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer （MBSA）、Systems Management Server （SMS）和Windows Server Update Services （WSUS）共同构筑了微软的修订补丁管理策略。
