Abstract: | 1. | In addition to the technology of manufacturing and installing precast concrete-encased steel penstocks of PSSs that has been developed and realized, the technology of manufacturing in situ penstocks can be developed. It is necessary at once to carry out design studies and to conduct additional scientific investigations for the purpose of comparing the two variants of technologies and to select the optimal one. | 2. | The construction of in situ concrete-encased steel penstocks of PSSs can provide a noticeable intensification of construction and a reduction of labor intensity and cost of the structure.
