Abstract:The low carbon and alloying steel can obtain higher strength, better plasticity and toughness by bainitic strengthening. And through thermal mechanical control processing (TMCP) technology, the properties and microstructure of the steel could be controlled, so the low cost and high weldability can be ensured, thus, this steel grade process extensive prospect of development and application. But the bainitic steel with more than 900MPa yield strength has not produced through industrial-scale production for the complexity of bainite transformation. Therefore, the effect of microalloying elements was analyzed, mechanical properties of steel with various bainitic morphologies were compared, different preparing technologies applied to get bainite were summarized, and the characteristic destination microstructure of bainitic steel with yield strength of 900MPa and total elongation of 15% was presented.
