Influence of particle density and size on turbulence, friction, and heat exchange characteristics

Abstract:Numerical simulation of turbulent flows of a gas suspension in the vicinity of the critical point and in a channel with permeable walls has been carried out. The influence of the concentration of the dispersed phase and the size of its particles on the distribution of mean and pulsation characteristics of the flow, as well as on the friction and heat transfer coefficients, is discussed.
