Abstract: | The first dinuclear bis(mercaptoimidazolyl)methane metal complex, the lead(II) derivative [Pb2(BmmMe)5](ClO4)4, has been prepared and fully characterized using a combination of analytical and spectroscopic techniques. X-ray crystallography confirmed the presence in the solid state of two dicationic [Pb(BmmMe)2]2+ fragments bridged by the fifth BmmMe ligand, which uses an unprecedented unidentate:bidentate (μ-κ1-S:κ2-S,S) coordination mode to link the two metal centers. |
