Intrinsic Safety Design of the Petrochemical Plant

Based on the characteristics of the petrochemical plant,a pretty new safety concept of advanced accident prevention——intrinsic safety was introduced.The intrinsic safety design is one modern design method with the unsafe action of people and the unsafe state of things as the controlled object,manpower,machine,material,method,and environment as basic elements,hazard identification as its foundation,risk & hazard evaluation as the method,and the accident-causing theory as the guide.Based on the experiences in design,construction,and operation of the petrochemical plant,the design principle,procedure,and method of intrinsic safety were introduced.It would provide the guiding idea and practical means for the intrinsic safety design.
