Transoropharyngeal approach to C 1 and C 2 |

| Abstract: | In rare cases of diseases or traumatic lesions of C1 and C2 it is possible to prefer the short way with the transoropharyngeal approach. The operative procedure is described. Specialities are explained in three cases. A metallic osteosynthesis in case of odontoid fracture is seldom indicated. |
