Abstract:The viscosity of fluidized gas-solid dispersion was measured using falling spheres. The rheological characteristics can be described by the Bingham fluid model. The relationship between efficient viscosity of fluidized beds ue, plastic viscosity u, yield stress to, sphere size d. and relative velocity between falling sphere and fluidized particles ur is expressed as ue = u t0do/3ur. The plastic viscosity and yield stress of fluidized dispersion can be obtained by linear regression of experimental data.
