Abstract:The calculation model of stress intensity factor for thermal tempered glass was formulated based on the distribution of the residual stress in glass.The reinforce mechanism was analyzed. By using the model the effects of tempering degree and glass thickness,as well as the crack growth were discussed. The results showed that,at the same tempering degree,the fracture stress increase with the thickness of tempered glass,but not for untempered glass.
