Effects of Silica Alumina Glue Bonder on the Properties of Ladle Refractory Castable

Using dense corundum,spinel powder,corundum micropowder and fused magnesite powder as starting materials,silica alumina glue bonded ladle castable was prepared.Studies were focused on the effect of silica alumina glue content on properties of the bulk density,apparent porosity,rupture strength,crushing strength and slag resistance.The results show that apparent porosity of the castable reduces and bulk density increases with the increase of silica alumina glue content,while rupture strength and crashing strength of the castable increased with the increase content of silicon and aluminum sol.When silica alumina glue content more than 6％,rupture strength and crushing strength of the castable decrease slowly.And erosion coefficient and permeation coefficient of the castable decrease steadily with the increase of silica alumina glue content.The change trend of erosion coefficient castable and coefficient of permeability are consistent.When content of silica alumina glue is more than 7％,effect on erosion and penetration of the crucible is not particularly obvious.According to the experiment,the silicon aluminum sol binder content should be controlled at 7％.
