Abstract:Catalyzed by SnCl2,a novel biomaterial poly(lactic acid-co-asparagine)[P(LA-co-Asn)] was directly synthesized via the melt copolycondensation of L-lactic acid(LA) and asparagine(Asn).The copolymer was systematically characterized with intrinsic viscosity [η],FT-IR,1H-NMR,GPC,DSC and XRD measurements.Increasing the Asn content in the feed,w of the copolymer gradually became smaller,and the crystallinity gradually disappeared.P(LA-co-Asn) with w from 9,500 to 2,700 were obtained,which could meet the demand of drug delivery carrier material.The novel direct copolycondensation method was cheap and practical.Compared with the branched poly(lactic acid-co-aspartic acid),the pendent primary amide groups in the side chain of the novel linear copolymer P(LA-co-Asn) may be further modified by bioactive molecules,which will be more beneficial to improve biocompatibility of polylactic acid(PLA).
