Properties of New Energetic Thermoplastic Polyurethane Elastomer

Abstract:A series of energetic thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer(ETPUE) were synthesized through bulk polymerization,which contained glycidyl azide polymer(GAP) as the soft segment,2,2-bis(azidomethyl) -propane- 1,3-diol and 4,4’-dicyclohexyl-methane diisocyanate(HMDI) as the hard segment.The experimental techniques utilized were Fourier transform infrared spectrum(FT-IR),differential scanning calorimetry(DSC),dynamic mechanical analysis(DMA) and tensile testing to study the properties of the ETPUE.The results show that the ETPUE have the character of the GAP based ETPUE.All ETPUEs have two phase separation characteristics and are amorphous at all-levels of hard-segment content.The tensile stress of the ETPUE increases with the hard-segment content increasing,while the strain decreases.It has a favorable property while the hard-segment content is controlled at 50%~55%.
