Synthesis of Polycarboxylic Acid-Based Superplasticizer via ATRP

Abstract:A new polycarboxylic acid-based superplasticizer(PSStNa-b-PAANa-b-PMPEG)was synthesized via the combination of atom transfer radical polymerization(ATRP) and resin exchanged technology.PSStNa-b-PAANa-b-PMMA was prepared using PSStNa-b-PAANa as macromolecule initiator by atom transfer radical polymerization(ATRP) of methyl methacrylate,and then reacted with methoxypoly(ethylene glycol)(MPEG) to synthesize triblock copolymer.The molecule structure of polycarboxylic acid-based superplasticizer was studied by FT-IR and 1H-NMR.And then the influence of reaction time on the fluidity of cement paste was investigated.The result shows that our design is successful and the product reaction time with 26 h has the best performance in this way.
