Abstract: | A laboratory technique has been developed for depositing a layer of pyrographite on to a cellulose-based carbon-fibre paper substrate by direct resistive heating in a methane/argon atmosphere, thereby enhancing its electrical conductivity and mechanical strength. The material can be used as a support for methanol electro-oxidation catalysts and has proved to be a satisfactory replacement for a proprietary material which is no longer available. |
