Abstract:Points out that almost all the rotor earthing protections are based upon such an assumption that the excitation voltage is a steady DC voltage, but the excitation voltage waveform in the high power controllable silicone all control bridge rectification excitation sytstem in common use at present is no longer steady DC, and it contains a lot of high order harmonics, and therefore, analyses the effect of high order harmonics on the rotor earthing protection, and suggests ways to improve the earthing protection.
