"Specialty" Licenses in Psychology.
Authors:Greenberg   Michael D.
Abstract:The author discusses his concerns over the consequences of the licensing of psychologists trained in nonclinical academic specialties who present themselves to the public as licensed psychologists with the specific intention of practicing clinical psychology. Wiens and Menne (April 1981) address this issue and dismiss it by reference to a false analogy. The author states that until we face the issue of non-qualified licensed psychologists, we will be justifiably vulnerable to both consumer groups and non-psychological clinicians.
