Unsuspected and pertinent microfacts in personology.
Authors:Piotrowski  Zygmunt A
Abstract:If he or she has a choice, the clinical psychologist prefers propositions that apply only to some individuals, but do so with a high degree of validity. Generalizations in personology based on group statistics apply to all members of the group studied, but they are of low validity when applied to individuals. Working with individuals the clinician prefers to say less, but with higher validity. The perceptanalytic Rorschach is a sensitive device that uncovers relevant microfacts of limited applicability but high validity. To obtain sound results one must treat the formal aspects of a response and its content as a unit. Ss must associate freely and completely unhampered.
