Discussion on Needs-analysis of EOP Courses in Higher Vocational Colleges: Taking the Course of Financial English as an Example

EOP courses are ESP courses with special purposes, which are directed to vocational English. With the opening up to the outside world, our country＇ s job market has great demand of luterdisciplinary talents with vocational English. Market demand makes the development of EOP courses in higher vocational colleges. EOP courses in higher vocational colleges, such as the course of finan- cial English, could be analyzed through the use of the needs-analysis theory of applied linguistics and the combination of the speci- ficity of vocational English education and the characteristics of vocational English courses. This includes Target Situation Analysis and Present Situation Analysis.
