Abstract: | Characteristics of temperature and field-induced ferroelectric-antiferroelectric phase transitions are reported as a function of composition. The ferroelectric compositions were found to exhibit remanent polarizations of the order of 30 μcoul per cm2, coupled with low dielectric constants and piezoelectric response. Evidence is presented for the existence of a polymorphic transition in the ferroelectric rhombohedral region of the system PbZrO3-PbTiO3 and the existing phase diagram modified accordingly. |
