Biological aspects of the recurrence of malignant tumors

Certain aspects of the differences between primary and recurrent tumours, such as the causes of the origin of recurrences, kinetic of the growth, characteristic of the recurrences as nonidentical population with primary tumour, immunological aspects, different changes in the tumour host have been reviewed. The prospects of the treatment of tumour recurrences have been discussed.
