Construction of concrete cutoff wall of the rockfill dam of Manla Hydro-junction Project in Tibet

Manla Hydro junction Project is the largest one in 62 works in aid of Tibet. Its concrete cutoff wall on the gravel foundation for rockfill dam with clay core has the name of the first wall in Tibet. Because the project is located in the cold and oxygen shortage region with very complex geological conditions in Tibet, many difficulties have been encountered in the construction. According to the general principles of "the first safety, the second quality and the third progress" and depending on the science and technology, the Third General Unit of Hydropower of the Chinese People's Armed Police adopted the domestic ripe construction techniques and successfully solved a series of technical problems that are encountered in the construction.
