Application of Infrared Thermo Imagery in Petroleum Refineries

Through a case study, the thermo imagery technology, infrared thermo imager and it＇ s application in petroleum refining industry are introduced including the evaluation of corrosion conditions of equipment, energy saving, electrical equipment inspection etc. The thermo imagery technology is mainly applied in the monitoring of equipment with refractory materials, the surface temperature monitoring of furnace tubes, the monitoring of unbalanced flow in air - cooler groups, the judgment of micro - leaking under insulation, the rapid check of damages of insulation for pipes and heat - traced tanks, the inspection of imperfect contacts of electrical equipment, the identification of running direction of underground pipelines, the examination of failures of mechanical bearing and lubricating system, etc. The impact factors of thermo imagery technology in application and corresponding control measures are presented.
