| Abstract: | The feasibility of on-line measuring the discharge current of lightning arresters is demonstrated in this paper. Some problems about the development of measuring devices for this purpose are discussed. Studies and technical treatments are carried out to overcome the strong interference from substation,especially at the moment of lightning arrester discharging. Studies are also carried out to solve the problems in the design, material selection, circuit realization and improvement of logical functions of the measuring device. Analysis and comment of the results from laboratory tests and the on-site operation of this device for measuring the discharge current of lightning arresters are presented. |
