A two-(and-a-half)-tiered trait taxonomy.
Authors:Guastello  Stephen J
Abstract:Comments on L. R. Goldberg's (see record 1993-17546-001) history of the Big Five personality trait taxonomy. In particular, a subtheme of a 2-tiered trait hierarchy with the possibility of a partial 3rd level is addressed. It is suggested that psychoticism contains 3 of the Big Five factors, which means that its internal consistency would not be as great as that of extraversion or neuroticism.
