Research History of Lectin and Its Bio-functions

The history on discovery and development of lectin are introduced.In recent twenty years,many lectins were discovered extracting from the plants,animals and microbes and the structure of them are determined.Meanwhile,the structure and bio-functions of lectins are narrated,such as the protective action and symbiotic action of lectins,indentifying molecular actions in the complex organism,the important actions of recognition between cell and molecular and intracellular signal indentification and so on.
