Beyond the self-help polemics.

Asserts that G. M. Rosen's (see record 1987-16844-001) contentions regarding self-help (SH) treatment books are provocative and bear on important issues in the translation of research findings into practical implications. Evidence is provided to challenge Rosen's implications that all SH authors are mercenary charlatans and that the majority of SH books are somehow bad for the consumer.
