The E. P. Mulvey et al (see record 1987-32366-001) evaluation of involuntary commitment to outpatient treatment of the chronic mentally ill gave inadequate attention to the social systems of clients in the community and underestimated the complexity of implementing a policy of involuntary outpatient commitment.
