Abstract:Ihis paper presems a novel MCS 8098-based intelligent testmg apparatus for microprocessor relay and protection system. Its hardware composition and software designed principles are described. Also its functions and features are intoduced. According to operating process and action signals of relay untier various faults of transmission line. The apparatus can provide corresponding transient waveforms of currents and voltages, status signals of power system for relay. Instead of the costly laboratory for simulating tests in dynamic, this apparatus can also carry out dynamic and static simulating tests of whole operating process for protective devices and adjusting tests for pilot-wire relay and distance protection. With the advatages of small in volume and low in cost,the apparatus is very suitable to worksite test and will be widely used in power system in future.
