Abstract: | A map of geothermal resources in Algeria is now being compiled. An inventory of hot springs has already been prepared. The groups of springs, of different chemical characteristics can mostly be found in the NE and NW of Algeria, with the most interesting ones in the NE. Huge reserves of hot waters (50–56°C) are present in the sedimentary basin of the low Sahara. Hammam Meskhoutine (Guelma) in the NE and Hammam Righa in the NW are of particular interest. The geothermal potential of both areas will be in heating applications. |
