Abstract:The additional loss is a very important reference index in the design of a converter transformer.In this paper,the skin depth control based solid model 3-D layer-meshing method and the magnetic loss calculation method were described.Using the software MagNet,the tank and clamps losses in a converter transformer were calculated,and the check computation of TEAM Problem 21B was conducted.Based on Visual Basic 6.0,a special program interface for calculating eddy current loss of windings in converter transformer was compiled and embedded into MagNet via VBScript,hence the eddy current loss of a winding is calculated.Comparison with the measured value verifies the correctness of the program interface.
