To solve such problems about the isolating switch in the 220 kV transformer station of Yangcheng International Power Co.,Ltd.as insufficient open/close actions,mechanism jamming,components rusting,and inflexible operating mechanism,etc.,comprehensive improvement of the 220 kV GW10-220 type isolating switch is conducted according to the practical conditions and its structure.The finger-contact disk structure is changed into soft connection structure,the length of coupling inclined plane is extended,the copper roller is renewed,the bevel gear box is reformed and rectified,the mechanism box is upgraded,and so on.The practical application indicates that the reliability of the improved isolating switch is enhanced,and its failure rate drops obviously.
