| Abstract: | A series of novel spirocyclic ethers were designed to function as nonpeptidal P2-ligands for HIV-1 protease inhibitors. Incorporation of designed ligands in the (R)-(hydroxyethylamino)sulfonamide isostere afforded potent HIV protease inhibitors. |
