KINETIC BEHAVIOR FOR THE NON-ISOTHERMAL COKING OF FOUR CHINESE VACUUM RESIDUA

Abstract:The non-isothermal coking of four Chinese residua from Daqing, Shengli, Renqiu and Shanjiasi oil fields were investigated in a thermogravimetric analyzer system. Some basic characteristics for the coking behavior of the residua were obtained by treatment of the experimental data.

According to two independent first-order kinetic models, the data can be correlated with two temperature regions. By means of the least square regression, the kinetic parameters for coking of the four residua in the two regions were determined. The apparent activation energies of four residua in the second temperature region fluctuate between 149.3 and 177.4 kJ/mol.
